Dietary Cooks
The primary function of Dietary Cooks at Beacon Ridge is to assist the Dietary Services Director in the preparation and distribution of nutritional meals and snacks in accordance with all federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations which govern the facility, and, as directed by the Dietary Services Director and/or Administrator so as to ensure each residents nutritional needs are met on a continuum.
Beacon Ridge currently has opportunities for FULL TIME and PART TIME Dietary Cooks for 8-HOUR SHIFTS with varying starts times between 5:30AM to 11:30AM. Availability is required on weekends and holidays.

Follow established menus, diet extensions and recipes.

Prepare and cook food in the amounts indicated according to the diet census sheets so as to ensure the prevention of wastes.

Review menus and diet orders to determine types and quantities of foods to prepare

Organizes cooking schedule so as to ensure the timely serving of meals.

Procure food from the refrigerator, freezer and other storage areas.
-
Prepare and/or supervises washing, trimming, cooking and serving of food items.

Use a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment.
-
Check in food and supply deliveries in the absence of the supervisor.

Deliver food carts to the dining room(s) and/or nursing station(s).

Assist nursing staff with the distribution of meals as directed.

Ensure compliant food temperatures are maintained from storage through consumption.

Responsible for sanitary maintenance of food storage areas, equipment, environment and work surfaces using approved sanitizing solutions.

Maintains confidentiality of information.
